Monster Truck Driver- Happy Hump Day

March 12, 2014

Monster Truck driver was my answer. The question was "What do you want to be when you grow up"? and the question was asked by my kindergarden teacher.

I am sure my mother was horrified and my dad was probably silently cheering me on.

What did you want to be when you were little?

Most kids wanted to be doctors, teachers, firemen, nurses, etc...

All I can remember is wanting to be a monster truck driver, a marine mammal biologist, a criminologist, a FBI agent and a medical examiner.

Kind of random right?

Well now I am 34 and I haven't done any of those things. Instead, I have been a manager at Vans shoes, personal trainer at Gold's Gym, a receptionist, a marketing assistant, a loan processor, a notary, a board member for an animal rescue and a mother.

I still would love to drive a monster truck at least once, and my dream job is still to be a medical examiner but I just don't have it in me to go to med school.

  1. That's hilarious! I don't remember much about what I wanted to be, probably a vet. And now I'm job hopping from year to year. Crazy how big our dreams were as kids.

  2. I think I wanted to be a teacher or a professional basketball player. I really don't think I could deal with kids all day though and I gave up basketball when I was 14 so..... yeah. So much for that!

    1. Yeah I couldn't be a teacher unless it was a kindergarden teacher... They pretty much get to cuddle and read stories all day!

  5. I always wanted to be a detective like the ones on Law and Order lol. That'll never happen. I don't think I could hold a gun even if I tried to. Let alone use it if I had to.

  9. You would've rocked as a monster truck driver! Teacher was always my top, but there were times I wanted to be a nurse, vet or a flight attendant...nothing too exciting.

  10. haha That's definitely a pretty unheard of response from a little girl. At least you get some uniqueness points! I definitely wanted to be a teacher but that didn't happen. Ah well!

  12. I honestly never saw myself as an adult, so I never had a 'dream job'. I guess I always wanted to sing and write, but they just seemed like pipe dreams anyways.
