I'm a Literary Junky!

May 20, 2014

I have read so many books lately, mostly because I like to sit on the couch while Tbone watches his shows (Nascar Nationwide racing, Nascar Sprint Cup racing, Indy Car racing, drag racing, biker build offs, car restorations, rat rod restorations, barn car finds, and car auctions) on the weekends. Most of the books I have read have been mindless smut (thanks a lot 50 Shades of Grey for opening up a whole new world of books), but some good ol' mystery books in there too.
I have linked up for the very first time with the Literary Junkies!

THE QUESTIONS:
1. What are you currently reading? Right now I am reading Hairspray and Homicide by Cindy Bell. I found this as a free read on Amazon.

It's about a girl who returns to her small hometown to start over, defeated by the big city. Just as she is settling in, she is pegged as a murderer. Now she is out to clear her name.

So far it's a quick and light read.

2. Do you judge a book by its cover? What cover elements make you not want to pick up a book? Now that I mostly read ebooks, I notice that I don't really even look at the cover. I usually pick books that sound appealing to me through the synopsis.

3. Do you participate in any other bookish link-ups? Tell us about them so we can join next time! This is the first book link up I have joined. I'm super excited!

4. Have you ever watched a movie that was better than its book version? Explain yourself! Hmmm, I really don't think so. Is it even possible?

5. Summer is here! Do you read more often during any particular season? I go through phases. Sometimes I read a ton at a time and sometimes I don't read for months. I probably read more in the Fall/Winter because it's easy to curl up with a book... Summer time we are pretty busy and the kids are up later.

6. What is the worst book you’ve read this year? Why? If I lose interest in a book, I just stop reading it. So I haven't really read any bad books lately. I know, I'm a quitter! =)

  1. I've never heard of Hairspray and Homicide, but I think it sounds like a cute read. I don't read a lot of ebooks. Even though I have a Kindle with a ton of free books, I haven't read most of them. I've always been guilty of judging books by their covers though.

I found your blog through the Literary Junkies link-up, and I wanted to reach out to you because I love connecting with fellow book lovers! I've created a unique opportunity for people who love books as me called the Summer Book Swap. It's a fun way to connect with bookworms and discover new books. 7. I just finished Divergent and Insurgent and was in love with them! Took me 5 days total for both! Granted I read them on vacation by the ocean... but they were great!

  8. Have you signed up through BookBub?? You get daily deal emails about books that are in the genres you want an email about that send you to Amazon. I typically add anywhere from 1-5 books a week to my Kindle. ;) LOL It's very dangerous...but if it's free, I'm game!! Thanks so much for linking up with us!! Hope to see you next time!
