I am extremely lucky to have the best job ever... ok it may not be the best job ever because I don't get paid in money... I get paid in slobbery dog kisses!!!! Don't hate!
I am the Vice President of Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund.

These are our two adoptable boys Tank (top) and Barton (bottom)

ABOUT US

Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund is a 501(c)3 Not for Profit California State Charitable Organization. Our tax id number is 20-2394081. Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund was founded in 2005 by Leilani and Rick Laca, Tazzy's humans. After Tazzy passed away from cancer in late 2004 they made a commitment to help animals in need to honor and thank him for the love he brought into their lives.

Since then many amazing people have joined the Board of Directors and the  mission of Tazzy Fund. Each of them bringing their passion and memory of the canine and feline loved ones they have loved and lost to old age and illness. We all work endlessly to help  animals in need to perpetuate their memory.

Mission
Tazzy Fund operates as a full functioning animal rescue, while focusing on seniors and the medically challenged. Our goal is to offer these loving seniors a grand retirement no matter how much time they have left. A medically challenged rescued animal can count on top rated medical care and a safe warm place with lots of love to rest until a forever home is found.

Tazzy Fund also offers many community programs that assist pet owners. Our goal is to offer services that will allow people to keep their pets in the home rather then situations that would otherwise cause them to relinquish their pets to an animal shelter. These assistance programs include, medical care, pet food, medication, short term boarding, nutrition counseling, spay and neuter programs  and direction to resources available that we may not provide.

Who's Tazzy?Our Baby Tazzy!

Tazzy was 7 years old when he needed to be rescued. A victim of divorce, he found himself without someone willing to keep him and his mother. The stress of potential separation suddenly killed his mother and poor Taz was alone and in need of a forever home. We spent some time getting to know him, I had my heart set on a puppy and I was concerned about his age. In no time at all he had won our hearts completely. It happened so naturally no one noticed. It was like I called God directly and put in an order for the perfect dog and I got him!!! The next 4 and 1/2 years flew by filled with love, fun, tons of photos, birthday celebrations (Tazzy's) and our life was perfect. On Tazzy's 11th Birthday we had a terrible day. Taz got sick and had emergency surgery for a mass in his stomach that burst. The results were not good. Taz had cancer and it was not curable. They said we had little time left with our baby. We took him home and showered him with love, kisses, yummies and Mr. popular had more visitors from family and friends then I ever have in my lifetime. late Saturday September 25, 2004 with the love and support of friends we had to help our sweet Tazzy pass peacefully. The worst day of our life!!  We knew it would be hard but boy we had no idea how unbearable the pain would be.

For our friends and family this left them helpless because all of them saw there was absolutely NOTHING they could do to comfort us. We have been asked so many times please let us do something for you and the loss you have suffered. We finally had a idea. A medical donation fund in Taz's memory through Boxer Rescue Los Angeles. We were grateful to meet people who spend their time caring for these wonderful dogs, whether they have medical issues, behavior issues or just need sometime to adjust to their life.  We wanted another adult Boxer to fill the empty space in our home and family. Tazzy will never be replaced in our hearts but we will make room and space for another. Spending a short time at Boxer Rescue LA was all it took to decide to create Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund!
