Dying

Yes it's true, I feel like I am dying. I have hand foot and mouth disease... I guess that's a perk from working at an elementary school. 
I'll just be laying in bed, isolated from my family if anyone needs me!!!!

So I apparently don't blog anymore!!! I've been so busy with getting all of my pre-requisites done for school which starts in a few weeks, getting all of the kids stuff ready for back to school in two weeks, and then starting a new business, that I've totally been neglecting my little blog here. 
Sooooorry!!!! 
So here is just a quick run down of my days via pics!!!! 

About 3 weeks ago, the rescue that I work for took in a boxer family. Without getting in to the specifics, they had to be taken away from their situation. The babies were only about 12 days old and they all needed basic medical care. 
Now they are 5 weeks old , rowdy babies and learning how to be respectable future furry family members for the right people! Meet the boxer family.  (FYI Rambo the dad, was adopted and now lives with a great family and even has a boxer sister to play with.)

Top Row- While the kids spent time with their cousin at their grandparent's house, Tbone and I went to Motley Crue. Don't ask how it was because we drove over and hour to get there, and then stayed for 5 minutes of a song... Long story but Tbone hadn't been feeling good and so we turned around and went home. With all of my school pre-reqs, I've now seen 10 doctors and been poked so many times to get everything I needed.. I'm glad it's all done... for now.

Bottom Row- We actually saw this business card for cattle insemination... It was too good to not take a picture... I highly recommend this Trader Joes Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato Ravioli. It's beyond amazing!!! I just wish it came in bigger bags! And then I tried making cauliflower lime cilantro rice. Delish and so much lighter than rice! Yuuum!

We spent the weekend relaxing (Tbone was sick) and spending quality time with our babies.  Top Row- My business license came in the mail (wooohooo I'm official), taking our babies for a evening walk since it's ridiculously hot during the day.  Bottom Row- Client Torii the gorgeous Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, and Hunter my big headed baby! 
I think that is pretty much it for now. Hopefully I'll be back like tomorrow... or at least sometime this week!

Back in Business

Not sure if I've ever shared what I do for a living... besides animal rescue (which only pays me in amazing warm fuzzy feelings), I do contract real estate work for a few agents from home... business has been a little slow... and it's never consistent. So, I've been looking for a job since both of my kiddos will be on the same school schedule this year.  It's been a bit rough finding anything right now since I haven't had a "real job" since before my kids were born (I used to work on the finance side of real estate).  Annnnyway, it's hard to find anything that allows me to spend as much time with my kids as I want so that I can work in class, get them to and from all of their sports, etc... I've been spoiled their whole lives by being able to stay home.  So, a few friends recommended that since I have been around and have loved animals my whole life, that I should start a pet sitting/dog walking business... That way, I can work my own hours and still be with my kids (oh and I am going back to school this Fall 2 nights a week).  So I did it!  I started a business!  Of course most of you aren't in So Cal let alone in my area so you won't be able to use me but I just thought I'd share my new venture.  Welcome to 'No Place Like Home- Pet Sitting and Dog Walking' You can "like" my fb page and maybe if you know someone in the area, you can steer them my way. Plus I post lots of pics of animals we work with so if you like animals, you'll see tons of cuteness!!!! 

 

8.7 years ago....

About 8.7 years ago I peed on a stick.... then walked out of the bathroom and announced to my now ex-husband, my friend Jesikuh and her boyfriend (now husband) Christian, that I was pregnant.  We went to Outback for dinner, where I barely ate (completely un-like me). We came home and I sat down and cried! 
I get that this is not a normal reaction for a person who has all of their ducks in a row. I had done everything the right way... I had not gotten married to young (26), I had a great job, I had bought a house... everything was going the way it was supposed to.  So why was I crying? 
In all honesty, I was not ready to have children... Actually most of my life, I had said, "I don't want kids". I am happy with my dogs, they are my kids. 
I spent the next month and a half crying and having severe anxiety attacks. I stopped answering my phone, I stopped talking to people, and I really became a hermit. I sat on my bed with my dog Havok and I cried and told myself, "I can't do this!"
I know, you are probably thinking that I am a horrible person!!! Believe me, I felt like a horrible person.    I am not sure what happened but I slowly started to tell myself that it was going to be okay and that I could do this...  (Oh in the meantime... I was so sick! I couldn't eat anything other grapefruit or citrus smoothies & my doctor made me drink ensure 3x a day.)
Things were going better for me emotionally but I was still sick... I kept losing weight (totally not the normal me). We finally were able to find out what we were having... The ultrasound tech said, "congrats, you are having a girl!" "Ummmm, what? Did you say we are having a girl? Wait, what do I do with a girl? What if she likes pink and wants to do ballet?" 
Yes, I know that when you go in to find out what you are having, there is a 50% chance that you are having a girl... Apparently that never crossed my mind... I just knew that I was having a boy. I seriously was dumbfounded. 
Fast forward to the beginning of July... I feel amazing for the first time since I found out I was pregnant. I am now excited that we are having a baby girl. The idea has set in, I have decorated the room, bought all the baby stuff, had a baby shower, and I am ready! 
July 7th I woke up to what I thought was gas... then I started timing my gas... It was pretty consistent gas. Hmmm, maybe those are contractions.  I call my dr. and he tells us to come to the hospital. The now ex-husband asks me (totally seriously), "do I need to take you to the hospital?" Me- "no, call me a effing cab!" He then calls work (his dad owned the company) and says, "I'll be late to work".  Me- "Um, no you won't... we are having a baby, you aren't going to work!!!"
I had a very easy labor. I checked in to the hospital around 8am and had my sweet baby Boogs by about 5pm. No drugs, no c-section... Easy peasy!!!  From that moment, my life changed. I was in love!!!!! I couldn't stop staring at her. She was so perfect! I didn't sleep all night, I just stared at her and held her bassinet in case I fell asleep and someone stole my gorgeous baby (it happens)! 
My life has never been the same, my sweet Boogie girl is so generous, caring, sweet, smart and beautiful! 
Oh and her favorite color is pink and she did end up taking ballet... and I love everything about it!  Happy birthday to my sweet sweet girl!!!! I love you so much!!! 

That Time I Got Shot in a Gang Fight

So last Saturday morning I was to get up and head out the door at 4:45am to meet my mom and fly to San Jose for a family friends surprise 60th birthday/retirement party.
In true Kellee fashion, I woke up at 4:45 to Tbone saying, "I think your mom is here". In my retarded sleep state I couldn't understand... Apparently I set my alarm for the time I was to leave instead of an hour ahead so that I could shower and get ready... Awesome!!!! 
Luckily I had packed the night before... I quickly sprayed my hair down with dry shampoo, threw it up in a messy bun, put on a maxi dress and tank and kissed Tbone goodbye. 
Thank goodness we made it to the airport in time. I would never have heard the end of it from my mom or Mr. check your list 8 times before you go to bed Tbone.  
Our flight was only about 50 minutes and not bad (I got a aisle seat which is good otherwise it would have been miserable). 
My mom decided we should upgrade our Toyota Corolla rental car to a Dodge Challenger (go mom!!!). 

We had a few hours before we could check in to our hotel so we decided to go visit the Winchester Mystery House (I went when I was little but I don't really remember much about it). I was so excited because I love anything that's supposed to be haunted!!!! 
Unfortunately we were not able to take pictures in the tour because Disney owns all the rights to the inside of the house. So you get a generic pic of the outside and a few garden pics. 

The tour was great and I've decided that I'd like to move in the Winchester Mystery House as soon as possible! I want it just for the solarium and the gardens!!!! Ah-mazing!

After that, my mom decides that she wants to see Stanford! Ok, it's about as close as I am ever going to get to attending so let's go! 

the campus is absolutely gorgeous and I posted this to my IG saying, "checking in for early admissions". I actually had someone ask me, "you are going there?" hahahaa. 

Anyway, we checked in to our hotel, took naps and headed out to the surprise party. 

As you can see, the party included brazilian dancers, cop stories and dancing!!! We had a good time and it was so awesome to be able to surprise Jaime!!!! He was a really good friend of my dad's so I know that it meant a lot to him that my mom and I were there to represent!!! 

After the party, I was trying to find my way through San Jose and turned a corner where there happened to be a house party and two guys fighting in the street... The one guy pushes the other guy in front of my car and being the amazing driver that I am, I dodge the idiots. I would have been super pissed if I got gang member pieces on the front of my beautiful Challenger!!!! 

After we turn the corner, we hear a gunshot! I tell my mom, "oh my gosh, I could have hit that guy, we could have been shot in a gang fight!!!! holy shit!!!!" 

So when I get back to the hotel I of course call Tbone and tell him that I was shot in a gang fight!

River or Bust.... More like Bust

Wow it's been quite a while eh? 
Let's see.... what has happened since I last blogged????
We went to the river!!!! Yay for my happy place! Unfortunately we almost didn't make it...  We had planned on waking up at 5 am to get on the road early to beat traffic and the heat... My mom even came over and spent the night so that we could all just roll in to the car. 
But that would have been to easy. I woke up at about 3 am and for some reason brushed my arm against my ear... It was then that I woke up and realized something was wrong!!!! My ear was gone! Just kidding... My ear was super thick and fat. Weird right???? So then I sat right up and felt my other ear... it was super swollen and fat too!!!! WTF?!?!?! So I jump up and look at it in the bathroom mirror... Holy hell, they were so swollen that you couldn't even move my earlobes... They were so fat, they were stiff!!!! Um, not normal!!!! Then that's when I notice that the right side of my face looks a little swollen too!!!! I immediatly rush to google!!!! Google knows everything right?!?!?!? 
What is more frightening that finding a billion things on google telling you that you are going to die? To not find a single thing matching your symptoms... I don't think that I have ever not found something on google until that moment. 
Finally Tbone wakes up and I explain that I have turned into a Shrek look alike. Then I realize that my whole body hurts... Like to the touch, and my throat feels like I swallowed broken glass!!!! 
We decide to go to the ER.  Thank god that my mom was here so that she could watch the kids and break the news that we were not heading to the river. 
Luckily we get checked in to the ER super fast and my doctor is soooo nice!!!! We knew we'd like him when we found out he had the same name as our sweet doggy Zeke. 
He then told me that he'd never seen anything like this either... Not super reassuring! 
They order a CT scan because he either thinks it's a weird reaction to my throat infection (that developed over night) or it's a blood clot in my brain causing a back up and my face to now look like Princess Fiona. 
We wait around for the results and they come back... He seems to think that it all looks clear and we can go home with some antibiotics for my throat. 
Okay we head home, get the kids packed and are walking out to the car when Dr. Zeke calls us and asks us to come back. He heard that we were going to the river and didn't want me to die out there so he wanted to be absolutely sure that my brain was okay... He rushed us in to a MRI to make sure.

After speaking to him, he tells us that he's consulted with the neurosurgeon (WTF) and they just want to make sure that what they were seeing was nothing. 
Thank goodness it comes back okay!!!! Now he says that he can confidently send me on my way to the river in the middle of nowhere where there is no medical care!  and off we go!!!!
Nothing was going to stop me from going to my happy place!!!! 

We ended up having a great trip even though my mom fell out of my Aunt and Uncle's motorhome and Boogs came down with strep throat on the way home!!!! (Sorry no pics of my mom eating shit).

I swear it's always something but we manage to have a great time anyway!

Peace out school!!!! We are officially on Summer break!!! 
This past week has been so crazy!!! Boogs and Beaks had so many last week of school activities. I feel like my phone alarms kept going off all day long reminding me of everything. 
So here is a photo recap of everything. 
Boogs had a field trip to a ranch near her school. It was such a beautiful day and perfect for best friends & picnics!

Then we had a birthday party at the bounce house place. 

Next we had Beaks' Kindergarden showcase and graduation.

and then the last day of school.....

This year just went by so fast and I am so proud of my two! They both did excellent!
